Sing With Us
The Ambiance Singers is a group of women of all ages who love to learn and to sing a wide variety of popular music. We meet regularly from September to June in Mississauga, ON to rehearse with our Director, Brigham Phillips and to socialize and have fun. We perform in May and June and over the Christmas season in Ontario and around Mississauga and Toronto.

Who Can Join
Women of all ages who love to sing and have fun. Being able to read music is helpful but not necessary. No previous experience necessary! Come try us out for a few rehearsals, no obligation. Just fill out the Contact Form and we’ll get back to you.
What Kind of Music Do You Sing?
We sing almost any kind of music you can imagine – the latest Broadway show tunes, timeless ballads, country, even jazz, and gospel. We rehearse and perform with professional musicians; a real treat!
Do You Sing All Year?
Almost! We rehearse regularly from September to June with time off for the Christmas holidays. We have two main seasons: Spring and Christmas. Each season has a set of show music and a series of concerts profiling that music. New members usually join the choir start in September or January.
Where Do You Rehearse?
Our main rehearsals are held in Mississauga, ON near Dundas & Mavis Road area. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 7 – 9 PM. As we get closer to our annual Spring concert date, we offer extra weekly practice sessions and full band rehearsals.
Where Do You Perform?
Our three main concerts are our charity concert in the Spring at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, ON, On the Verandah at the Benares Historic House in Mississauga, ON, and our Christmas Concert at Black Creek Pioneer Village in Toronto, ON. We also perform at a variety of other venues in and around Mississauga and Toronto.
What Do You Wear For Your Performances?
We prefer a variety of outfits that coordinate with each other. At our Spring charity concert at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, ON and at some of our larger shows, we wear full-length formal gowns. For other concerts, we choose outfits suited to a particular event. Check out our outfits on the Watch & Listen page.
Do I Have To Sing Solos?
We sing together as a group! There are opportunities for individuals to have solo parts either as part of a song sung by the entire group or as a song sung by an individual. If you don’t want to sing a solo you don’t have to. And if singing a solo is something you love, we can accommodate that too!
Is There A Fee?
We charge our members a nominal fee every month to participate in our group. The fee covers a variety of things including paying our director Danny McErlain, purchasing our music and paying our professional band for performances to name a few! When it comes to joining a singing group, you get what you pay for.
What Can I Expect At Practice?
The group is divided into sections based on range. Each section works with our director Danny McErlain to be able to perform with the group as a whole. We practice harmonies, timing, and range. We also have a lot of fun!
